Most Expensive Player in PSL are those players which have been included in the category of icon players. Each team have purchased one icon player, and each player will be getting $200,000.

Players included in icon players category are Pakistan t20 captain Shahid Afridi, Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik, West Indies exciting opener Chris Gayle, Australian all-rounder Shane Watson and England middle-order batsman Kevin Pietersen.
Peshawar Zalmi picked Shahid Afridi as their Most Expensive Player in PSL while Karachi Kings went with Shoaib Malik. Islamabad United picked Shane Watson while Quetta Gladiators decided to go with Kevin Pietersen and Lahore Qalandars have choosen Chris Gayle as their Most Expensive Player in PSL.
The icon players category is followed by Platinum category. 25 players of Platinum category will be receiving $140,000 each.
After Platinum category there is Diamond category in which players will be receiving $70,000. Diamond category is followed by Gold Category and silver category with price of $50,000 and $25,000 respectively. Last but not least is Emerging category in which players will receive $10,000.
Each team have picked squad of 20 players including four players as supplementary.
