Captain of Peshawar team is Shahid Afridi, who is also captain of Pakistan’s T20 team. Coach of the team is former Pakistani player Mohammad Akram. Former Zimbabwean captain and batsmen Andy Flower is the batting consultant of the Peshawar team. Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi is the Icon player of Peshawar and he will also act as a brand ambassador.

The PCB announced the owners of five city-based franchises, on 3rd December 2015. The Peshawar franchise was sold to Mr Javed Afridi of Haier Pakistan for US$16 Million.
Name of the team is Peshawar Zalmi. Peshawar is the Provencal capital of KPK, Pakistan and the word Zalmi is a Pashto language word meaning Youth.
