Islamabad United is one of the Pakistan Super League Teams representing the city Islamabad. Islamabad United is own by Venture Capital Leonine Global Sports a group of investors from UAE. Captain of Islamabad United is Misbah-ul-Haq, who is also captain of Pakistan’s test team. Coach of the team is former Australian player Dean Jones. Former Pakistan captain and all-rounder Waseem Akram is the director of the Islamabad team. Australian all-rounder Shane Watson is the Icon player of Islamabad United and he will also act as a brand ambassador.

The PCB announced the owners of five city-based franchises, on 3rd December 2015. The Islamabad franchise was sold to a Venture Capital company (Leonine Global Sports) for US$15 Million.

Name of the team is Islamabad united. Islamabad is the capital of country and word united shows the unity among the people of the Pakistan.
